African Glass Masks | PU-107

Handmade Murano glass and Murrine mask.

Murano glass masks and Murrine are handmade design sculptures. They represent the distant meeting of two cultures, apparently distant in the present but incredibly close in the past: Venice and Africa.

Each piece is unique and unrepeatable, the result of the union of traditional Murano glassmaking techniques, such as Murrine, and the ethnic flavour of contemporary design.

A certified Vetro Artistico® Murano work that testifies to and renews the skilful role of transmission and innovation that has always distinguished the traditional techniques and master glassmakers of Murano.

How Is it Made?

This sculpture is made in 800′ glass fusion, with Murano glass rods and Murrine obtained in the traditional way. It is then worked by the master grinder who gives it an ever-changing shape, by the master engraver who etches its details and particularities by carving the Murrine to bring out its inner colours, and finally again it is ground and polished, ready to be displayed in its pedestal stand or hung on the wall with its convenient accessory.

Each African Glass Mask comes with:

– table pedestal or wall accessory of your choice.
– engraved signature of authenticity and provenance.
– registered trademark Vetro Artistico® Murano.
– suitable packaging to guarantee shipment.
